On the 1st of September 2020 a witness saw Mr. Irvine sneak into the storage cupboard and using the large club Gavel deliberately struck “Eddie the Encouragement Bear” a number of times. It was then alleged that Mr. Irvine threw him to the back of the closest with the hope that no one would see what he had done. The prosecution will argue that Mr. Irvine was sick and tired of being overlooked by Eddie the Encouragement bear that he decided to remove the competition. The defence is arguing that Mr. Irvine was assisting Eddie the Encouragement Bear prepare for the meeting.
The allegations put before the court be that Bevin Irvine DTM and Life Member of Tropic City Toastmasters, deliberately set out to deface and destroy the clubs mascot “Eddie the encouragement bear” in an attempt enhance their own status within the club.
Maximum penalty is life imprisonment within Tropic City Toastmasters with no chance of parole.
The Attorney General, the Honorable Scott T presided over the case with Council assisting Michael R leading the defence and Council Assisting Crispian J leading the prosecution team. A number of key witnesses were called from both sides with the highlight being Lorna F, demonstrating the emotional impact this event had on her. The defendant Bevin providing a unique series of arguments which included a short song “Teddy Bears Picnic”, a joke about koalas and a little “num num num” about drop bears.
Unfortunately for the Accused his arguments were to no avail as the members of the jury, voted to convict Bevin and sentenced him to life imprisonment within Tropic City Toastmasters.
Leave was requested that this matter be referred to the high court, however this was denied by what one court member (Des the Desperado) claimed was a kangaroo court led by a biased and vindictive Attorney General.
