THE SMART FRAMEWORK
One of the best ways be accountable with resolutions is to write down your goals using the SMART framework:
- Specific – be clear about your new self and what this could look like. Take time to visualise!
- Measurable – to achieve your goal, consider how you can measure it. Look at what the result might be, even if it is broken down into sub steps.
- Achievable – make sure your goal is indeed achievable. Small, well defined actionable steps often lead to the biggest wins.
- Relevant – focus on the ‘Why’ and write this down to refer back to often for encouragement.
- Timebound – What is the end date that you would like to have this achieved by? Look at how you can fit this into your daily/weekly routine and pencil each minor milestone in working backwards.
